Do you want your wedding dinner to be dynamic, joyful, and unforgettable? Entertainment is essential to create a festive atmosphere and avoid awkward pauses. In this article, we share our favorite activity ideas and tips based on our own experience as newlyweds!

Why delegate the entertainment?
The key to successful wedding entertainment often starts with smart delegation. We strongly recommend entrusting this task to your witnesses and/or a professional host! Why? Simply because the element of surprise works wonderfully—for both you and your guests.
To plan these fun moments, you have a few options:
Select the activities yourself and let your witnesses or host run the show
Suggest a few ideas but let them add their own personal twist
Give them total freedom to surprise you completely
Our experience: For our wedding, we chose a mixed approach. We picked two activities that really mattered to us, and then our witnesses added their surprise idea. This way, we kept some control while still enjoying some amazing surprises!
7 must-have activities for your wedding dinner
1. The "he said, she said" game 💑
Full rules:
This classic never fails! The concept is simple: the bride and groom sit back-to-back, and the host asks questions about their habits, preferences, or shared history.
You can answer in two ways:
Sign option: Each person holds up a sign that says "He" or "She" to answer.
Shoe option: Each person holds one of their partner's shoes and one of their own, raising the shoe that matches the answer.
For example, to the question "Who is more of a foodie?", if both raise the groom’s shoe, they agree!
Carib Wedding (CW) tip: Our witnesses handed out “He” and “She” signs to the tables so the guests could guess the answers too. We also had a mic available for debates or explanations, which sparked lots of laughter!
What you'll nedd:
2 “He” and “She” signs (or the couple’s shoes)
Extra guest signs (optional for interactive version)
A list of 15–20 questions
A microphone (optional but helpful)
Suggested duration: 15–20 minutes
Sample questions:
Who is the most disorganized?
Who said "I love you" first?
Who spends more time in the bathroom?
Who holds a grudge longer?
2. The things in common game 👨👩👧👦
Full rules:
This is a fantastic icebreaker to bring all your guests together—from the youngest to the oldest!
Here's how to set it up for maximum fun:
Secret prep: Your witnesses or the host secretly prepare a numbered list of things guests might have in common. The couple doesn’t know what’s on the list—they’ll have to guess during the game!
Discreet distribution: Just before the game starts, each table receives a copy of the list. Tip: laminate the sheets to protect them from spills!
Game begins: The host announces, for example, “Stand up if you match item number 1.”
Participation: Guests who match the description silently check their list and stand up.
The guessing moment: The couple looks around and tries to guess what all the standing guests have in common.
Next round: Once the answer is revealed, move on to the next item. Expect lots of laughter and surprises along the way!
CW tip: This game created some of our favorite memories. Our witnesses picked a great mix of obvious and unexpected traits, which added real suspense and tons of laughs!
What you’ll need:
A list of 10–12 numbered “things in common” prepared by your witnesses
One laminated sheet per table with the full list
A microphone for the host
Ideal duration: 15–20 minutes (just long enough to keep it fun without losing energy)
Sample ideas for “things in common”:
Already married
Have known the couple since childhood
Born in the same month as the bride
Have traveled with the couple
Practice the same sport as the groom
3. Interactive Kahoot! quiz 📱
Full rules:
This digital and interactive game is always a hit! Kahoot! is a platform that lets you create quizzes people can answer in real time from their phones.
The witnesses prepare a series of questions about the couple, their story, or fun facts. Guests connect with a code and answer questions shown on a big screen. Speed and accuracy earn points!
Our bonus game: This was our surprise activity and it was one of the best! It created a friendly competition to see who knew us best. Offer a small prize to the winner—it adds a fun incentive.
What you’ll need:
A Kahoot! account (free or premium)

Good WiFi for guests
Guests’ smartphones
A prize for the winner (optional)
Suggested duration: 15–20 minutes

4. Wedding bingo 🎲
Full rules:
An easy activity that can run all day long! Each guest or table gets a custom bingo card with squares describing things that might happen during the celebration.
As these things happen, guests mark off the boxes. The first to complete a line, column, or full card wins a prize.

5. Video guest book 🎥
Full rules:
Give a modern twist to the traditional guest book by creating a video booth! Set up a corner with a camera or tablet where guests can record messages for the couple.
To make it easier, provide cards with prompts or sentence starters. Add fun props (hats, glasses, frames) to loosen people up and spark creativity.

A themed backdrop
Fun photo props
Prompt cards
A quiet spot to reduce background noise

6. Music blind test 🎵
Full rules:
This in-between-courses game always brings energy! Prepare a playlist of meaningful songs, love classics, or wedding hits.
Split the guests into teams (usually by table). Play a few seconds of each song. Teams write down the title and artist. Tally the points at the end to crown the winning team.

Possible variations:
All love songs

7. Table challenges 🏆
Full rules:
Assign each table a creative challenge to build team spirit and fun. This happens throughout dinner so guests have time to prepare their performance.
Each table gets an envelope with a unique mission. After the meal or before dessert, tables present their result. The couple or all guests vote for the best!
What you’ll need:
One envelope per table with the challenge
Props or materials as needed (paper, pens, etc.)

Write and perform a parody song about the couple’s story
Draw a portrait of the couple in 20 years
Our tips for successful wedding activities
For fun and memorable wedding activities, keep these tips in mind:
Perfect timing: Spread them throughout dinner to maintain energy without rushing. Avoid serving times for main courses.
Keep them short: Stick to 15–20 minutes max to hold interest and enthusiasm.
Include everyone: Choose games that are inclusive for all ages to build a warm atmosphere.
Tech check: Test all equipment (mics, screens, sound) ahead of time.
Have a plan B: Always have a backup in case of tech issues or bad weather (especially for outdoor games).
Prep meeting: Hold a planning session with your witnesses or host so they fully understand your wishes and the game flow.
Never forget: the real goal of these games is to create moments of joy and connection. They should be a source of happiness, not stress—for you and your guests.

Final thoughts
Games during the wedding dinner turn a simple meal into a one-of-a-kind celebration. By involving your witnesses and/or a host and choosing activities that match your personality, you’ll create unforgettable memories for everyone present.
Our last piece of advice: Trust yourself and have fun! The most important thing is that these activities reflect who you are as a couple. Feel free to adapt our suggestions to your story, your tastes, and the vibe you want for your big day.
